Every time there is a trade show event happening here in Orlando, Hubby and I always took the time to come see it. We shop for things that we need in the house and of course, we love receiving free stuffs during the event. It is always fun to visit a trade show because of the colorful and organize business space of the participants. There are trade show flooring so; advertising of their business is visible for everybody. Usually, we start from one end and walk our way towards the other end of the trade show area.

There are live shows and demonstrations of many products such as kitchen appliances, health and wellness machines, sauna and spa, and many more. Most of the time, the business used trade show carpet in their space and it's really attractive and beautifies the area. There are so many of them used logo canopy and the whole space inside is just the right size to display their products. It is not only used outside an open space ground but also indoors.

From my point of view, most of the participants in the trade show are very creative and really do something that can attract customers. Most of their strategies are very effective because I saw people coming out from the trade shows have bags filled with what they bought inside. Well, that would include us. We always buy something we like most. What they did with their area works great and inviting. What more can I say but, thumbs up!

We are anxious to hear the final good news about the property that we bid last month. The seller of the townhouse accepted our offer in less than a week and it made us so happy. But, since the property was listed as a short sale, the bank of the seller will have to approve on the sellers' price. This would mean one thing; the sellers' bank has the last say about the price of the property. We both love this townhouse because the building is new and the HOA is minimal. We are hoping that the bank can come up a decision soon.

Anyway, are you planning to buy a house soon? If you have a good credit, you will have no problem with any mortgage loan because lending institutions will definitely love to have you as their client. But if your credit is bad, do not despair. You will get approved too. A Proud Home Owner

When I was growing up, we moved from one apartment to another. We either rent the property or rent the land to build our house. I told myself, "this course has to end" and I will buy a house for my Mom. She is a single parent and she deserves a break. I found a job after graduation and in two years, I reached that dream of becoming a proud home owner.

Every month, I am paying a mortgage and my property is under a government home loan. I do not consider a refinancing option from any institution since my home loan is almost paid off. My husband and I owned two properties also and both are fully paid. We are aiming to buy another property as rental income but then again, as much as we can afford it, we plan to purchase the property in cash to avoid the monthly obligations.

Despite the properties that we have, I am still hoping to buy my dream home. Since it will be an expensive house, mortgage lenders are great option to consider. If I sign a mortgage for 30 years, it will benefit me as a buyer because the cash value of the money at present will always be less than the cash value in 30 years.

I Do Care

When we went to Mississippi last year, I bought 30 pieces of clothes in SEARS because they are on SALE. I spent less than $100 for everything (90% off) and I was supposed to send those clothes last December for my relatives in CDO. I failed to do so when Storm Washi or Bagyong Sendong struck CDO on Dec. 16, 2011. I diverted my budget for shipping and added the amount to send financial help for my relatives and friends. This week, I will be sending 2 balikbayan boxes and those new clothes will be included in the box. (see the pix below) I tried asking help from hubbys' friends and thank God, one replied. This is better than nothing right? I already accepted the fact that when I beg for help, I am not convincing. The owner of the clothes below works at American Airlines so, her clothes are worth keeping for and I know, the recipient will be happy to wear them. Thanks to Christine Danyi, you are an angel in disguise. May God bless you abundantly! Thank you so much for extending your arms to help the survivors of Sendong. The recipient of these two boxes will be the residents of District 3 Consolacion, Cagayan de Oro City. This will be distributed to the 46 families whom I know from childhood. It would be nice if you do the same thing just to lighten up a little bit of their misery. This is not much but, these things will give them encouragement that others care for them. Go ahead! My niece lives halfway around the globe so; our communication rely solely in Skype. One Sunday afternoon, she told me that she wanted to wear a princess dress for her birthday party. When you used the google today, were you surprised to see the sensorship bar blocking the google word? There is nothing to worry and that is not a virus! Google is participating the protest against the plan to ban online piracy.Giant Websites such as Google and Wikipedia participated the online protest. The blackout is against SOPA ( Stop Online Privacy Act ) which is a House Bill and PIPA ( Protect Intellectual Property Act ), a Senante Bill.

There are arguments that these two Bills were too vague. Also, it will eventually give the government too much power to shut down Websites accused of copyright violations. Their concern is the "what if" the site accused will be later found as innocent, the harm is already done. Not only that, a lot of Website giants will be affected in some ways.

Anyway, I did try to put my cursor on the black bar and this came up: "Tell Congress: Please don't censor the Web" Are you participating the protest? Just curious.

John 3: 16: Tebow Mania

I was in my 6th grade when our teacher, Mrs. Japitana required us to memorize 5 bible passages everyday. One of the verses that I memorize was: John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life". He was playing in college football when I noticed this writing on his face. A stunning victory during the last game between the Broncos and Steelers made the Tebow haters smoking in anger.

Tim Tebow is a rookie quarterback therefore, all eyes are on him. Anyone new to a profession is subject to scrutiny and for this year, it's Tim Tebow.

I wonder what the Tebow haters are doing at the last few seconds of the fourth quarter? Maybe they mocked his faith. Well, that is truly expected but, LO and Behold!

I bet they have a jaw-dropping moment when 11 seconds touchdown made a huge difference from a Rookie pass! I was watching the TV Online when I found out from different sources that 3:16 is significant: Tebow threw 316 yards and set an NFL record with 31.6 yards per completion. How is that? At least now, most people learn the bible passage of John 3:16 including the Tebow Haters.

Who would have ever thought that Denver Broncos will win over Pittsburgh Steelers? I was in a dilemma today because Pittsburgh Steelers is my first favorite team. They are the champion in Superbowl XLlll in 2009. In fact, Steelers won the Superbowl Championship for 7 times. That's an awesome record. In 2011, they are the second best during the XLV Superbowl Championship since Green Bay Packers defeated them. Broncos is the underdog. Remember, the quarterback of Steelers is Ben Roethlisberger, a well respected QB. Broncos has Tim Tebow who played as Quarterback not so long ago. A newbie in professional football and hated by atheists. Today's game is a living testimony that as long as the game is not over, there is HOPE and MIRACLE. The Broncos stun Steelers in over time and for 11 seconds, Tim Tebow passes the ball to the receiver and Thomas run the 80 yards and made the touchdown. What a great game. Let us start tebowing.

Bagyong Sendong: Cagayan de Oro City

It's been a long while that I neglected my blogs. I will suffer if I will not update my Websites because it would mean less income to none. I was too focused on the devastating news about Cagayan de Oro City which was hit by Tropical Storm Washi (Bagyong Sendong) last December 16, 2011.

When I went home last year, my Aunt wanted to buy their rented house. She had no means to buy it and so; she asked my assistance. I can't say NO to my aunt after all, she is very close to me and I wanted her to be happy. The Landlord needed the money for medical purposes too so; we negotiated the amount. My aunt and her family can live the property without paying the rent for three years and if the Landlord cannot return the amount that I gave her, we will create another contract or finalize the property deeds. If that happens, the property will be given to my aunt in fact, in the contract my aunt and her daughter is the beneficiary of the property. I provide the financial assistance to augment their life situation. I was glad that for a year, they managed to stand on their feet and uplift their way of living. Until... Sendong came.

It was around 10PM on the night of Dec.16, 2011, I tried to check on them and there was no answer on the phone. I called my mom to calm her down because she was afraid of the storm. I told her it will be passing Cagayan de Oro soon. Everything seems normal and most of my friends in Cagayan de Oro were on Facebook and described the strong winds and hard rainfall. Then...all at once, all of them stopped updating their walls. I thought they were sleeping.

My friends in the US are the ones in panic and updated their FB walls about the rising water of Cagayan de Oro river. I called my mom again to check the news but, I awakened her. Everything seems fine with her and she told me, there's no electricity. I called my brother in Surigao and asked about his family in Carmen (a flood zone) area but, he said they are alright. I called my aunt and my cousins but, there was no answer....I waited and I prayed hard.

Around 4AM, I was relieved to read a text message from my cousin informing they are all safe. When the water subsided in the morning, they were hungry, in a daze, muddy, cold and wet. My cousin and his family in NHA were the first relatives who check on them. My mama asked them to check the situation of my Aunt and her family. They bought food and gave them money. My aunt can't go back to their place. The mud was too high to tackle. They were tired and they haven't sleep since the night before. The house is still there but, everything inside was totaled!

They are currently living with my Mama and everyone is alive and safe. Material things maybe gone but, we do not worry about it. We handle the situation in a day to day basis. What matter most right now is that all of them are spared from a life threatening situation. And we are so grateful and thankful to God for that.

Fresh from Florida Parade

How was your new year everyone? Where did you celebrate it? Much as I wanted to be in the Time Square, the schedule did not permit us so, hubby and I celebrate it at home. It's all good and we had a wonderful time...watching the countdown in Fox News. Anyway, early that day (Dec. 31), we went to Downtown and see the Citrus Parade. We went there at 9:30 even though the parade started at 11A.M. We found a good parking spot at $5 in Central Avenue. We also found a shady area in Lake Eola at the front of this building. These set of pictures were taken during first part of the parade.The Fresh From Florida Parade is formerly known as Orlando Citrus Parade is an annual activity in Orlando, Florida. I will be posting more photos later today.Thirty-two years ago, the parade was previously known as the Florida Power (Progress Energy) Super Holiday Parade then, change to the Orlando Citrus Parade. I do not know why the name always change.When Delta Air Lines sponsored the parade seven years ago, it was called The Orlando Citrus Parade. Two years after, the Spherion becomes a major sponsor together with Delta Air Lines and the parade was called The Spherion Orlando Citrus Parade. Maybe it depends who are the sponsors that is why, the name changes oftentimes.So, this parade is called Fresh from Florida Parade because it was sponsored by Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. According to the news this event is produced by Florida Citrus Sports.Well, I thought the parade is a bit dull compared to the past parades. The people around us in this location thought there will be more floats decorated with citrus and fresh produce. Guess not!

Orlando Citrus Parade 2011

Happy New Year World! Let us start this year with a good cheer and hoping that 2012 will bring us prosperity, happiness, unity and peace to mankind.I would like to share these pictures which I took at Downtown Orlando during the Fresh from Florida Parade, formerly known as the Orlando Citrus Parade which was held on December 31, 2011. I enjoyed it but, this year's parade is a bit disappointing to see compared to the parade that I saw in 2008. Maybe because I expect too much. I was looking forward to see more citrus floats or floats with Florida produce perhaps.
I like all the floats but, I guess most of us are anxious to see more. The most applauded participants are the "Men and Women in Uniform" with their families. When they pass by to our area, we gave them a standing ovation and we shouted "Thank You". I was really hoping to see decoration of oranges to this float.I am hoping that for 2012, the parade will be more fun and exciting to watch. This location is along the Lake Eola Park in Summerlin Street area where the parade ends. Hubby and I love where we position ourselves during the parade because the big tree gave us the shade. We were surrounded with behave people ^_^. To sum it up, I enjoyed the parade and all the participants are interesting and fun to watch. I took this picture in 2008 and I had a wonderful time admiring the floats decorated with thousands of the fresh produce of oranges, tangerines, and citrus of different varieties.The Fresh From Florida Parade is formerly known as Orlando Citrus Parade is scheduled tomorrow, December 31, 2011 at 11 A.M along the streets of Downtown Orlando. The parade will start at Orange Avenue and Robinson Street. It follows south to Anderson Street, then over to Rosalind Avenue, and finally north back to Robinson Street. So, if you are heading to Downtown, avoid those streets because it will be close at 10 A.M. Remember, between Garland and Lake Avenue, you should avoid the following: Church St, Pine St, Central Ave., Washington Ave., Jefferson Ave., and some side streets will be close at 8 A.M. for parade preparations.

Take note that Livingston will be blocked off west of Orange while Robinson will be blocked off east of Orange. The Orange will be closed between Anderson and Colonial while Rosalind will be closed at Anderson and Robinson. Anyway, I have to bring my map and I need to come there early maybe, 2 hours early, wheww.

Remote Control Nitro Cars

Weird as it may sound but, I love to see a collection of miniature cars specially the remote control nitro cars. It all started when I was with my nephew and we shop whole day at the toy shop. I enjoyed the test drive of course; I was using the remote control and the long winding racetracks. I was blown away with the experience with my nephew.

About two months ago, I sent a Balikbayan Box and it contains toy cars, a set of 70 different car collections. It was not meant for him because I purposely delay his remote control car. Kids love to have one for them if they see others got one already. He was crying and so mad at me because he got nothing while I gave one set to his cousin. Okay! My bad but, I already pack the remote control car and soon, he will have it.

Not to mention that my husband and I had it test drive already, LOL. It was fun and I am sure the boys would love this as a gift.

I was worried sick since Saturday when my friend and his wife had no updates on their FB walls. Both of them are my co-teachers during my first school assignment in Besigan, Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. When Bagyong Sendong struck Northern Mindanao, Philippines, hundreds were missing and Tropical Storm Washi caused more than a thousand fatalities, and 1000+ are officially listed as missing.
Their house is located on the badly hit area. I have been to their place and when the raging water rises up to their gate, it really means trouble.Neighbors find refuge on their roof...waiting for the water to subside. All the residents impacted by these flood waters were forced to seek refuge on their roofs. The whole first floor was engulf with muddy water.
They are worried....
... and sleepy....
... and the water subside...
... and they are safe to come down...
In few hours the house looks like this:You can tell how deep the flood water is. Almost 20 ft perhaps? Or more? Tropical Storm Washi has brought 10 hours of torrential rains. The result was a disastrous flash flood over Northern Mindanao including my beloved city, Cagayan de Oro. My city is an area that rarely experiences tropical cyclones. During these hours, hundreds of people were killed as flood waters destroyed the homes along the riverbanks. As far as I remember in four decades, this flood is the worst in my city's history. My friends survived the flooding and though they lost everything, they have each other and that's what matter's most.

For so many days, I lost the drive to write and update my blog. I thought I can manage to work in a charity company but, I think I cannot handle seeing and hearing the misery of other people. Since Friday Dec. 16, 2011 when Tropical Storm Sendong (washi) hit Southern Philippines, I was doing charity work online. It was stressful and right after Christmas Eve, I have a terrible headache. I took a nap and rested for the whole day to regain my strength. This Christmas is the saddest Christmas I ever had. My family and I cannot help but think about those people who mourn for their loveones. May God bless the victims of Sendong the gift of understanding and may God heal their emptiness and sadness. Cagayan de Oro City Philippines Needs Your Help

My husband and I were driving to Alabama yesterday morning and I called my mom in the Philippines to inform her about my whereabouts. I also need to calm her down that Cagayan de Oro is in the path of the storm Sendong. She got nervous with thunderstorm and winds so; I told her to not to worry too much because it will pass by in few hours. I can hear the wind gushing and the falling rain on the canopy. Hearing my voice and my constant calls made her at ease. By 2 PM, that's dawntime in Cagayan de Oro, my FB friends were busy posting distressed posts about flooding.Here are some of the photos taken and shared to public in FB by DON JUNIOR. Thank you so much for sharing Don. My heart sank and I was devastated! When I grew up, my family lived in Cagayan de Oro river banks and there is nothing like this ever happened in our city. I was about 8 years old when there was flooding in Consolacion. My uncle carried me on his back because it was so deep and the streets were ankle-deep. Not this time! This is worst because according to my cousin, the water rise up quickly and their house was engulf with flood water above the roof. All their belongings GONE forever and that includes the appliances. Thank God that 6 of them plus two children are safe! All the neighbors that I knew from childhood were all safe but, some of them are in the evacuation area and no place to come home for Christmas. Actually, I like this gadget but, I have problems with the video tranfer so, I lost interest in using this gadget.It comes with a small tripod which I never opened.

I am in the mood for blogging and I am so productive today! The only set back, I only ate oatmeal and it's almost 3 PM now and I am not done with my tasks. I need to set aside my blogging business for now and focus on this Divorce Documents for my hubby's client. I need to segregate the documents which is needed for her case.
The client asked me how do I know which documents are needed and not. Well, I simply told her that I read the instructions carefully. So far, all clients are satisfied because they are happily divorce, hmmm.

Christmas is less than three weeks and I am really excited. I have been shopping online and every time the doorbell rang, I have a package. In fact, I received two big boxes from FedEx today. I remember that I took this picture in an awkward position. During the Mardi Gras parade, dogs participated the event and they are in different sizes. This particular dog reminds me of Queenie, a dog that became my friend and a playmate when I was in second grade.

This dog is huge and so many people tried to pet her. I can't go near her so, I used the zoom in to make it look like that I was closer to where she was. I was just feeling the nostalgia and the fun childhood memories.

Christmas Decorating

I took these pictures lastweek. I decorate early because I want to feel the spirit of Christmas in my house for a longer time. My husband has a Christmas Village collection for so long and every year he added few items on it. I do not have space to put it together so, I used the table in the living room and also under the Christmas tree.My husband loves the Christmas tree and it was the most beautiful Christmas tree he ever have. Well, I tought he appreciate it more because this is our first Christmas tree. Last year, I spent my Christmas in the Philippines and he spent it in Mississippi with his brothers and sisters.That's the Christmas cookies on the tin can LOL. My table is crowded oh well, it's Christmas...should be full of everything:-)
Actually, last night, I took these village off the table and added it under the Christmas tree. I basically declutter the top of the table.
Over the top of this drawer, I also put some of the Christmas village. I put some decoration around the big mirror too.

I am not done decorating when I took this pictures. But, today, I am done!

Disney World's Haunted Mansion

One of the attractions that I love to visit in Disney World is the Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom. I tell you a secret, I hate long walks but, in this attraction, I can enjoy and relax because of the rides! When you are in any theme parks in Disney, it involves walking and I tell you, it is a long walk. You will only realize it once you come home and your legs are aching.Anyway, inside the Haunted Mansion is not at all scary. Even the kids would say that but, they keep coming back because they love the ghostly figures and some animated tricks. The picture below is the entrance of the mansion. Watch out for the tricks out there.This is the musical wall where when you touch the musical instruments, they create a sound.
Here is a ghostly figure which will show up during the rides.
I guess this is a computer generated figure. The head shows up together with other ghostly figures dancing and having dinner. It was really interesting and fun to watch.

I was thinking of going to Disney this week. I asked my husband to go with me and he said yes...provided, hmmm. Here we go, this is the game of the week! I must go with him and look at the condo that he is eyeing in Titusville. Easy!I just want to go out from the house. The weather is so NICE! My kind of weather in Florida...winter here is super nice! The sun still shines so bright but the breeze is cool and today, it's 60's. Anyway, I took these pictures last month at Magic Kingdom. We went there at 2PM just wandering along the Haunted Mansion. There was a show at the castle so, we took time to watch.
As always, there were a lot of tourists here in Disney World. In fact, Disney is not affected with the crisis. Their business is booming as always.
I was thinking of going to each theme park and take pictures of their Christmas Decoration. I might do that.

A Relaxing Home

Finding the right home is not an easy task. Today, we viewed three properties here in Orlando and so far, we did not like it. Hubby and I love to have a big yard because we want to have a garden and a backyard where we can entertain our friends. A good size space for our big grill would be awesome and if there is a pool, that will be a bonus where we can put some Adirondack chairs around it. That would be a relaxing home for us.

Anyway, we found some beautiful houses with well-maintained yard but, there were multiple offers. We lost few bids already but, we are still on the lookout for new listings. One house that we bid has Picnic Tables at both ends of the backyard. The neighbor told us that the family who lived there had three kids and they left the playground equipment. It looks brand new and it works alright. They left behind expensive stuffs in the house. My heart goes out to the family who lost the house in foreclosure. What they left behind is really a bonus for the buyer. Anyway, hubby and I are still looking for a new home and we hope that we can find the ideal home real soon.

Germany at World Showcase in Disney's Epcot Theme Park

Every weekdays, Hubby and I can visit Disney World Theme Parks anytime because we purchase an annual pass. We decided to visit Epcot Theme Park. It was my second visit and this time, we did all the walking at the World Showcase area. It is like traveling to the world when you are in Epcot. These are the countries which you can see in World Showcase area: Mexico, Norway, Cina, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Morocco, Japan, American Adventure, Italy and Germany.

While we were in the Germany area, I look around the landscape and I saw this cute miniature German Village. My husband lived in Europe for years and he travelled to Germany, France and Spain a lot. He said, Germany always look like this and it is more beutiful during Christmas. If I live in the farm with this kind of neighborhood, I can live with in this town all my life. It is just so peaceful the nature is just awesome.My sister-in-law told me that Holiday Season in Germany is very beautiful because all houses have Christmas Decors just like the picture on the Christmas cards featuring houses almost covered with snow. I took these pictures at night but still, the tinsel town is beautiful. I kept asking my husband that we will visit Germany when we travel to Europe. I hope it will gonna happen, soon.

Snapping Turtle on the Hallway

One morning, I openned the door to take our newspaper and immediately I was startled! This poor creature wanders the hallway of our condo unit. You can tell that it was so old and lost, LOL. It was really huge and we just left it there and in few minutes, it was gone. I thought they are slow? LOL!Here in Florida, anything can happen! No matter where you live, you can always see animals wanders around.So far, I saw wild deer, big snakes and in pair, rabbits, squirrels, ducks and crocs along the highway. But, this is the first time that I have a close encounter of a snapping turtle in our unit. Usually, I saw them walking along the road and some were not lucky, they got run down by cars.
We tried to feed the snapping turtle and we left it there. As long as it is not a snake or a bear, I wouldn't mind the animals living around us. Well, I just wanted to let you know about my experience that almost gives me a heart attack! LOL!

Norwegian Sky has incredible dining accommodation for their guests and it's called Freestyle Dining. They have Complimentary Dining where guests can access the two main dining areas: Garden Cafe' and Great Outdoor. Both dining areas are self-service buffets and the foods are great. You will not starve when you cruise in Norwegian Sky and you do not sit with the same people all throughout the cruising days. The other cruise lines, you need to select the time when you eat and sit with the same people (grinning). Aside from the buffets, Norwegian Sky offers their guests the room service with no extra fee as long as you order from 5AM to midnight. The food is free and guest can have the made-to-order food. That is awesome right? Well, you might as well give an extra tip to the server even though the tip was included in your ticket. That will be your two cents! The pictures here were taken on the Deck 11 mid section where most people love to hang out. Richard Matic, the Cruise Director from the Philippines was holding the microphone on stage welcoming the guests on the first day during the cruise. At this time, everyone is ready to cruise to Bahamas. This cruise ship is registered in the Port of Bahamas, built in Germany, launched in 1996 and in service since 1999 under Norwegian Cruise Line. Busy guests huh? This deck has the food, the pool, Jacuzzis, play area and the band plays here as well where I enjoyed the Caribbean music. Here are some guests playing while waiting for the ship to sail away.Are you a heavy drinker? That is not included in your ticket so; you can still drink at your expense and it's expensive. Watch the Round 12! The Judges had the last decision! Manny Pacquiao won! During the last few minutes, Manny was aggressive (as usual) and hit Marquez on the head (so hard) and lower body. It was just a flash! The bell rang, end of the round 12 fight. Marquez was contented with the score 16-13 for round 1-11! The camera focus on Marquez, he was grinning and raising both arms claiming that he won. They flash the last hits of Manny to Marquez and the decision take few more minutes. Manny kneel down to pray while the Mexicans were celebrating! I turn off my live-streamed pc and just FBooking to my friends about the fight using my iPad!I was still hoping that Manny will win, it will be a miracle! I pray too. I will tell you right now, my mom back home is praying too. Manny do not know us but, Manny is a good man and we want him to win for the country! Of course, most of the people in the Philippines were praying too! A Miracle came! My friend Carmela congratulate Manny for winning! Port Lucaya Marina

If I am rich, Bahamas would be one of the places that I would visit frequently. About three weeks ago, we had four days cruising thru Norwegian Sky with Bahamas as the destination. I always wanted to see Bahamas and so far, I enjoyed the my first cruising. I would definitely go back to the island. We had a full day at Freeport, Bahamas and we went to their International Market. Nearby is the Marina where tourist can rent a boat for island hopping or do the snorkeling. Hubby and I went to the Port Lucaya Marina just back of the Port Lucaya Marketplace at Freeport, Bahamas. It was still 9 AM so; the store in the marketplace was still not busy.Hubby and I decided to just walk around the place. We came out to the big hotel of Flamingo and when we were there, we were able to access their Wi-Fi. The hotel is so grand and the beach front was awesome! It was raining so, I did not bother to take pictures.
There were beaches in the area but to access, one should pay. If you love the beach, you should pay and you will be amazed of the view and the water. Gezzz...the water is truly blue and so clean!
We went back to the Port Lucaya Marketplace and I bought my souvenirs. By noontime, the marketpalce was jampacked with tourists but, it was still pouring rain. Hubby and I decided to stay inside the Treasure Bay Casino and just hang out until 2PM. We wanted to go back to ship to enjoy the indoor activities.

Port Lucaya marketplace is interesting and their products were affordable. From the cruiseship to this port, we pay $10/person (back and forth) which is not bad at all. Anyway, I hope to have more cruising in the future and would love to go back to Bahamas.

As I mentioned in my other blog, I accompanied the friend of my brother to buy a coach product for his wife. His budget for a single product should not exceed $500. We went to Outlet Mall at International Drive and look for the Coach Store. He was so lucky because the store was giving away a 30% on all items. We were blown away because there were items which has a discount of 50% plus the 30%. Therefore, we will only pay the 20% of the item plus the tax. Anyway, he bought 4 signature coach bags for less than $500. He was so amazed with the price.As for me, I was looking for a sling bag that I can hold both my iPad2 and Netbook. I was just lucky to have found this item.I will not buy it if the price is $258 but, since it was under the 40% off shelves, I am happy with this amazing deal. Besides, I still have the 30% off so; I only paid $108 for my sling bag.

This sling bag has a good size compartments. The design is simple but functional and both iPAD2 and Netbook fits good.

On Board The Norwegian Sky

First Day of the Cruise was truly fun especially for me because it was my first time. This is the Deck 11, the location of the poolside, Garden Buffet, Great Outdoor, Breaker's Bar, Longboard Bar, Outrigger Lounge, Fitness Center, Jacuzzis, Mandara Spa and Salon, Sauna and Steam Room and II Adagio Fine Dining. During this time, we are all checking the areas of the ship and find our way to the Garden Cafe' to eat.We were acquainted to the other guests and most of them are seasoned cruisers. They said that this Freestyle Cruising is the best. One: Norwegian has complimentary dining and that would mean: Guests can eat any time and anywhere to the main dining rooms, casual cafes', self-service buffets, or avail the room service and guests can have the "made-to-order" food available from 5AM to midnight, all for FREE! That is amazing! Guests do not have to pick the time when to eat and of course, you do not have to sit with the same people over and over again! During dining, the dress code is not strict even if you choose the fine dining. Resorts casual and shorts are allowed in all dining areas and venues but, wear your shoes and shirts though. Most of the guests are wearing formal dress in the fine dining, I suggest you have to wear that too. The ambiance is cozy and elegant, you might as well wear a formal attire.
In all honesty, you will never get hungry in a freestyle dining cruises of NCL. If in case you are hungry for food after midnight, you can have the room service and they charge only less than $4 and the food is FREE. Now, that will cost you money in other cruise ship.
The picture above is the Miami city. We sail away at exactly 5PM and the party continues at the poolside for the BBQ! Actually, the activities on the cruise ship started at 11:30AM while the ship was still embarking the guests. There were Sudoku and Crosswords at the Library, Basketball Open Play, Live Music at the Atrium, Kid's Corner is open too, Golf Driving Range for golf enthusiasts, live music at the poolside where we frequent. Guests were just checking really what's ahead of this cruising. Some attended the sky ship tour and listen to the shore excursion presentation. As for us, we just took a table on the Deck 11, eat and mingle with people. It was really interesting and fun.By 4:30 PM, everyone had to proceed to the Assembly Station for Mandatory Life Boat Drill. Our key card has a G name on it and that means we have to find the Station G. I noticed that guests were not taking the drill seriously. It took them a long time to gather the guests to their respective stations. It reminds me the situation of TITANIC where people wanted to be the first on the life boat. Since, this is only a drill few are paying attention. Well, I observe that on the plane too. Anyway, public areas were close and all guests were accounted for at the Assembly Station. If something happens, this life boat above us will be our refuge and it's big. It can accommodate 150 passengers. After the Mandatory Life Boat Drill, we head to the Fwd area of the ship and we stayed right here to watch the Miami City as we sail away. This is the Deck 12 of the Norwegian Sky. The party continues in every Deck of the cruise ship and yap, music is everywhere. It was a gloomy day and it drizzles a bit but, the fun and excitement was sky limit!

I’m only a hard day’s work away from a relaxing, exciting night with friends. Matt has been asking me for years to go – The Charlie Daniels Band is supposed to be playing and he’s obsessed. I have put it off and put it off, but now we actually have a free night while they’re here, so we’re grabbing our jackets and headin’ to the county fair! I grumped about it at first, but now and a little excited about funnel cakes, fried pies, cotton candy, and maybe a ferris wheel ride. That should probably happen before the fried pies, huh? And, if you won’t tell anyone, I’m slightly excited about seeing The Charlie Daniels Band, too. But let’s just keep that one between you and me. Matt’s reeeeeal good at “I told you so”.

While we were in the Norwegian Sky waiting for our schedule to sail to Bahamas, Carnival Imagination started sailing away ahead of us. This ship is a Fantasy Cruise under Carnival Corporation and PLC. It travels to Western Carribean and the Bahamas for three to four days. Just like Norwegian Sky, Carnival Imagination is also registered in Bahamas as Port of Registry.We were having a safety drill when we saw this cruise ship sailing away to the Caribbean.The guests in this cruise ship will enjoy the amenities of the following: Dynasty Lounge, Curiosity Library, Mirage and Dream Bars, Pride and Spirit Dining Rooms, Shangri La, Vittorio's Cafe and Internet, Illusions Dance Club, Pinnacle Club, Xanadu Lounge, Horizon Bar & Grill and Club O2.This cruise ship has Piano Bar, Card Room, Verandah Deck, Lido Deck with Outdoor Main Pool Area.Their Dynasty Lounge can accomodate 1,200 guests and this ship also has a Midship Lounge.

On the Cruise

Today, we arrived in Great Stirrup Cay and it is the second day of our cruising to Bahamas. We had a coffee at the Garden Buffet which is located at the 11th floor on the Aft-section of the ship. And, Ron’s daughter came and we all went to the Palace Fine Dining which is located at the Mid-section of the ship. On this area, guests had to wait to be seated which is really nice. Our server is a Filipino from Cebu and most of the workforce on this ship is Filipinos. We gave him extra tip because he was a good server. If the weather permits, we will go to transfer to a tender boat and transport us to the island of GSC. Excited! But, the waves are really big and the wind blows so strong. Lenita Reyes Otadoy, Joanna Franquelli and Jyllyn Nicanor (Philippines Women's Sabre Fencing Team) have been chosen to compete in the upcoming SEA Games in Jakarta, Indonesia by the Philippine Fencing Association on November 13-18, 2011.

To compete, they have to find sponsors, donors and patrons for their airfares, board and lodging and allowances (pocket money).

Although their training in China is all expense-paid through the Philippine Fencing Association this October, unfortunately there is no more enough budget to shoulder their expenses on the actual days of competition.

Each of them only needs Php 50,000 to pay for the above for their 10 day-stay in Jakarta. They are very much willing to put the company logo of the sponsors, donors and patrons in their uniforms.

Professor Reyes-Otadoy won the Silver Medal in the Annual Dayrit Cup Fencing Championships on June 19, 2009 and the Gold Medal in the same tournament in 2008. She also organized the UP Sabre Fencing Varsity Team which finally won the gold in UAAP.

I got my 10 year greencard a week ago! Yayyy! Six months ago, I went to the USCIS to have my fingerprint and picture taken. Then according to my notice, I had to wait six months for the decision. Did you know that I really waited exactly six months?I applied for Petition to Remove the Conditions of Residence in short, I used form I-751. Since I live in Florida, my service center should be in Vermont and the processing time is 6 months. As of today, the fee for this application is $590. If you are planning to apply for I-751, you can do it by following the instructions in USCIS.GOV. It is not complicated. Make sure that you insert the needed requirements, correct payments, sent all the needed proofs, and able to write legibly. Make sure also that you read the instructions carefully. Proof read and re-check your papers. Everything will turn out okay. You do not need to pay a lawyer to do all these stuff! But, if you prefer to have a lawyer, that is your prerogative. My friend died of cancer a week ago at the age of 41. She is just an ordinary person, a teacher by profession and has full of life. In comparison, the Apple co-founder and Chairman, Steve Jobs, famous and the great innovator in this generation, died of cancer at 56. I heard on the news that he was the 42nd richest man in the US and yet, money cannot save him. Scientists still have to find the cure of cancer. Money, can buy the things that make us happy but money, cannot buy good health. Once we are dead, we are gone forever. Cancer is not just one disease but, more than a 100 different types and mostly, it is named after the organ. Cancer is a disease that continues to haunt the living if we cannot find the cure to stop it. We are all vulnerable and no matter how careful we are, cancer will just sprout and before we know it, we are already dying. Of course, life will be stretched a little longer if we have the money to spend for treatments. If we pray harder, there will be miracles and we will be cancer-free. A month ago, we have a friend who died of lung cancer and she never smoke. Cancer can be a genetic cause but, the most alarming is the environmental factor. Well, as long as we live happy, eat fruits and vegetables, do the exercise and choose a healthy lifestyle, we can only hope that we will live healthy until we die of old age. How is that sound?

My husband and I have been discussing on opening a new business. We have a notary and rental income business but, with the economic crisis in the country right now, the latter is better. The notary on the other hand is slow maybe because we have so many competitors in the area. But, my sister wants to build her own business too. An Advertising Agency is what she has in mind because she is a people-person. She is good at planning, expert in the arts and graphics, and she knows a lot of people engaged in business. Now, you may ask where she got this idea when she has been enslaving herself as a home-maker for so long. She had been doing her own research, watched videos and those videos gave her inspiration.

She told me to watch this specific video and watch it from the advertising agency website that she recommended. It truly gives me an idea that running advertising agencies can be demanding but, it can also be a lucrative business. If the clients are happy, the advertising agency will reach the mark. I believe that happy clients will turn in happier prospects and the cycle goes on. It is a spiral of overflowing clientele. If that is the turn out of the business then, that can be translated into more income. That is the goal of my sister and she can do the business at home too. If her creative juices would flow well, the family will be proud of her, and we will support her dreams.

Isle in Biloxi

When we had our vacation in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, we are so excited to visit the restaurants and the buffet in the area as well as do the casino hopping. There are at least 9 casinos in Biloxi which is just 5 minutes from Ocean Springs. The pictures below were taken at the ISLE hotel and casino. Cruising the Coast is actually scheduled this week. Participants from all over the state travel to the Gulf Coast and display their vintage cars on the highway. You will be blown away with how That maybe the reason why Woodie, the car below was moved to the main lobby of the Isle Casino. Hmmm...just maybe. Supposedly, this car was displayed in the garage entrance but they move it.

It was a beautiful day an hour earlier but, look at the weather. It was so windy and it looks like a big storm!
You guess it right, that's water flooded the entrance of the hotel.
This is the left side of the lobby and those people were heading out towards the garage.
That is the bar at the entrance of the Isle. This is a good place to watch the NFL games and on the left side is the casino.
Rainy afternoon and so breezy! It is a passing storm and after an hour, the sun shines so brightly again.

Farewell Jena

If someone would ask me if I die today, would I be ready? I would surely answer; I am not ready to die! That is human nature and it holds true to most of us! There is so much in life that we hang on, there is so much to accomplish and most of all, we worry too much of our family that we will leave behind.

If only we have the chance to choose between life and death, we would surely choose life! But when death comes, we cannot ask for another day. It will be the end! No one can vouch us for another week or two. Only God knows when and how we die, and we are all subject to follow our fate. And I, embrace that truth! Our body is sacred and as long as we breathe life in every minute of the day, no matter how tired we are and no matter how terrible our days went by, we owe this gift from the Ultimate Creator of Life.Jena was my co-teacher for 12 years. We taught the first grade and when I was assigned in that school, she was already there making her name to the community. I would say she had the best classroom in the first grade level. Her room was organized, clean and the students were well-behaved. When you need visual aids, she would share what she has and she was a good mentor too.

Jena was a very resourceful person. Most of the time, we were the last person to go home because we had to set the classroom for the class on the next day. When I had to finish something and it's already dark and no one is around the school campus, she would wait for me. Yap! She would keep me company and I can remember vividly that she was there with me the whole time. She lives nearby the school so, there is no rush for her to go home. It was a nice gesture, right?

We talk about everything: school, family, kids, life, love, little naughty secrets and yes, she can keep secrets. As a friend and as a person, she was loved by many and a well-respected teacher in the school and the community. Like you and me, she was neither a perfect friend nor a perfect teacher. Others may despise her, like you and me. No matter how we tried to be a good person, we cannot please everybody. She was the kind of person who stand firm on her ground. She was a very career-oriented and very motivated person. She was full of life, and she respects other people. And at the age of 41, she died of cancer. Rest in Peace Jen.

We were driving down the scenic route from Mississippi towards Florida and before sunset, we arrive in Fort Walton Area. We decided to stop and booked a night stay in one of the hotels facing the Gulf. The picture below is my husband. The beach of Fort Walton is so calm at early morning. The white sand and the landscape down below our hotel is truly amazing!Because I had a migraine on this day, I did not go to the beach area. Our Road Trips

Hubby and I love to travel the backway which is the scenic route of Florida. The chance to see the farm lands of water melons, peanuts, oranges, horses, cows and goats are interesting. Of course, we are fascinated with the big houses along the country roads.Traveling on the scenic route will not cut the miles of our road trips. In fact, it will take us longer hours but, the beauty of the small towns are just fascinating and charming for us. As long as the sun is up, we love to explore places around Florida. We armed ourselves with a map when there is no signal and a GPS most of the time. Once in a while, we have road trips and we enjoyed it. When there are storms and heavy rain fall while we are traveling, we usually stopped in a gas station and let the storm pass by and we move on. By the time I have my license, we will explore the East Coast hopefully. From the East of Florida down to Miami and heading to the west of Florida, all the way to Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana, we have been there. We saw the coastline and we are looking forward to see the coastline on the East Coast.

Oh yeah! I can't wait for the Mardi Gras which will be happening in just few months. The catching of the beads will start rolling in and all the members of our family will again occupy in our favorite spot along the Government Street of Ocean Springs, Mississippi. The first time I watched the Mardi Gras Parade I was very reluctant to wave my hands begging for beads. But when I looked around me, everyone was doing it and I had to join the fun. Screaming and catching the beads was totally fun. All the beads are beautiful but once in awhile, they throw away their finest, collectibles and extra ordinary beads. Most of the Mardi Gras floats reserve beautiful beads and those are the kind of beads most Mardi Gras goers wanted to catch. My family in Mississippi lived there all their lives and witnessed the Mardi Gras every year. They showed me their priceless collections of beautiful beads. Each one is totally unique, beautiful and a good collectible.
By January or February next year, we will be going to Mississippi and Alabama to see the Mardi Gras Parade. That will be exciting for me because I will donate all the beads that I gather to a school in the Philippines. When we were in Alabama, we stayed in the house of our friend. Their house is big and their kitchen is all white and the fixtures are stainless and they have a stainless steel sinks. When was the last time you burst out laughing? What makes you tickle? I had a blast when we were in Alabama last Monday because my husband and his friend were reminiscing their old high school days. The four of us laugh out loud when both of them started to crack the jokes they made when they were teenagers. Then, our friend started showing us their high school pictures. Those were funny pictures and videos indeed when he was caught by the teacher all smothered with paint because it fell down on him. Her mom thought it was funny so; she took a souvenir picture.

We were glad she did because now, we just laugh about it. It is really good to laugh in a fun way without offending anyone. When we laugh, we create a happy disposition in life and it is the best medicine of all. It cures depression too but, not too much. You will have a heart attack if you laugh too much LOL. Anyway, there are funny pictures which are posted online. As long as they are not offensive, it is okay to laugh. As long as you do not laugh at someone it is alright.

Guest Bedroom

After driving for seven hours from Orlando, we arrived in Alabama and stayed one night to our friends house. They showed us the guest room and here are the pictures inside the room.I was really amazed to see the big windows without any window treatments. Whatever you do inside, you would think that anyone who peep from the outside can see you, right? Well, I tried to see the exterior of the house and from there, I can never see anyhing inside. It is totally black. It would be different though at night when there is a light on.I find the guest room so cozy and unique. This guest room has big windows and as I lay down to take a nap, I am seeing the trees and the backyard. No one will be seen there wandering though because the whole area was fenced in. It was very safe.
Here is the bed and beside that beautiful cabinet is the hallway to the bathroom. It is open and yes, the big window goes all the way to the bathroom. When you sit and do something in the bathroom, the view of the trees and the farm animals outside is what you will gonna enjoy.
If you hate the light, this is not the room for you. But, I love the natural light so, this guest room works for me. See the windows at the top? If it is a full moon, you can see it the whole time at night. I like the room and the hard wood floors. Some of the accessories in the room are vintage but, eclectic at the same time. I sleep good.

Having A Grand Vacation

We were driving down the beach at the Beach Boulevard along the Gulf Coast of Mississippi when I saw a logo canopy in one area. Even if we were driving down the road, I was able to read the logo on the canopy which says Jet Ski rentals. That canopy is a good advertisement tool because I saw cars making a detour and drive down the area. Anyway, we were just having a short vacation here in Mississippi. We stayed in the hotel with a casino so, we are currently having a blast down here. In this hotel, the decors are so elegant and the detail design of the ceiling to the flooring accents are all carefully put up together. This hotel is world class with trade show flooring and it is seen throughout the main lobby. The trade show carpet is in every entrance in fact, I took a picture of my feet on the logo mats. I stepped on the logo mat and took a souvenir picture. Well, that is just the shallow side of what makes me happy. I was waiting the elevator to come up when I saw the logo mat so beautiful and neat. Today, I am still exploring the hotel and every minute, I am in great awe!

Yesterday we travelled from Orlando to visit a friend in a farm land in Sweet Home Alabama. That's a song from the movie of Reese Witherspoon which is my favorite movie. Okay, I have been trying to asked my hubby that we will drop by the place where that movie was created but, no avail. So, I can only sing a song as we drove down the farmlands of goats and cotton. When we arrived, our friends show us the house and one particular thing that sits on the table is this.It is a stone about 3 inches but, I was amazed by the art work. It is a tiny piece of stone but, the artist did a wonderful job of carving an image of a happy face. This is the kind of item that I wanted to buy for my collection. What can you say?

Her Favorite Shoes

We visited a friend in Alabama and we enjoyed our one day adventure in their farm. It was my first time to meet his wife and we get along well. While the boys are talking about farm equipment, we were talking about home decors as well as our favorite collection, the shoes. She was wearing Wide Calf Boots and when I said I like it, she showed me her walk-in closet and I was in great awe with her collection of shoes. I could see hundreds of designer shoes in the closet and she said, she is not done shopping yet. She told me that she is an impulsive buyer and most of the shoes in the closet she never use. Half of the time, she donates it and gives it to a friend. She wanted to give me one pair of shoes but, I am a size six and she is wearing a plus size. Anyway, she is a busy woman and after work, she loves online shopping. She is familiar of One Stop Plus and few of her favorite shoes are from this store. My aunt complains about her headaches but, she felt it was centered and triggered around her eyes. She thought she had an ocular disorder and she did. Eyestrain is normal for her because she is a seamstress and works late at night. But, lately she was having a hard time focusing on her work because she tire easily and constant experiencing headaches too. So, she went to an optical clinic and got a prescription glasses. The Optometrist told her to rest and gives a little time to relax her eyes. The family suggested that she had to quit working. As far as I know, she did stop working and decline some customers. These pictures were taken at the busy streets of New orleans while waiting for the Parade for the Saints NFL Team.If I have to close my eyes and think about that day, I can smell the freshness of the air and it was a chilly day.All the streets are crowded just like this one.
The streets are jam packed aside from the makeshift stage or tent built at the side of the road. Anybody can pay an amount to have a single space inside the makeshift stage.Hubby and I are having a walk tour around the Business District of New Orleans. High rise buildings and famous malls, hotels and casinos are just nearby.
If there are big events in New Orleans, all vacant lots will become a parking lot which is a good business.
