May 21, 2011: End of the World

When I was in High School, I was terrified to read about the apocalypse and that the world will end soon. Almost 3 decades passed, I am still reading about the end of the world but, I am not terrified anymore. I just shrugged the news!I read about the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in one of the magazines that I read. Based in the last book of the New Testament of the Bible called the Book of Revelation, is about the four beasts that ride on white, red, black, and pale horses which each symbolize Conquest, War, Famine and Death. In the Christian apocalyptic vision is that the four horsemen are to set a divine apocalypse upon the world as harbingers or forerunners of the Last Judgment.Do you think we are seeing the apocalypse at this point in time? I snagged these pictures from google showing the catasthropic event happened in Japan. Do you think the earthquake happening this year is a sign that the world will end soon?
"MAY 21st Doomsday Movement" claims that on May 21 will be the rapture day or the Judgement Day. Look around you now! Do you think the world will end on Saturday? Or the Maya's prediction perhaps is true?May 21st Doomsday Movement say that Oct.21,2011 is the end of the world! 200 million of the people will just rapture on Saturday! Tar Balls Reached Biloxi-Ocean Springs

If you are following me on tweeter, you read it right .... tar balls from crude oil reached the shorelines of Biloxi and Ocean Springs, Mississippi. There were hundreds of BP workers cleaned up the beaches yesterday. In fact, they arrived by buses and they stationed themselves in Beach Boulevard. This is not a good sign! We need BP to cap the source of the oil and PLEASE double your effort!

The Coastal Crisis

We all know that BP is doing something to stop the oil spill but, it is not enough! 45 days had passed, still the crude oil emit tons of oil. Look at the dying bird in Louisiana! That is really a sad and heartbreaking sight! (photo courtesy:audubonoffloridanews.org)My husband and I love the beach since we live close by the amazing view of the Gulf Coast. Everyday, we drove by the Beach Boulevard and just enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the beach area facing the Gulf of Mexico. When the Deepwater Horizon Oil Rig exploded last April 20,2010, the people living in the Gulf Coast area are truly devastated. Fishing Industry will be paralyzed and like a domino effect, it would mean job lost to those who rely on fishing. If the fishermen can not supply the demands on the market, the Business Industry who delivers seafood directly to the consumers will be badly affected.

Just the other week, fresh oysters was already $10.00/dozen, twice from the original price they served. Restaurants felt the scarcity of seafood products and they were given a limited purchase. This crisis is Ecological and Environmental in nature and it would take years and years before it can return to its normal balance. How many lives will be affected by then?

I just wish that we could do something for PEACE of the world and FEED the hunger..... we start now and help our family, relatives, neighbors and friends. Change really start when each one of us strive to do it.
