For two weeks, we booked four different hotels as we waited for the closing of the property we bought somewhere in Florida. The picture below is the poolside in the hotel we checked in for a week stay in Cocoa Beach. This is the view when we are in our room. We never gets the chance to swim though because the weather is a scorcher. That is why, on the next hotel, we should dive in and enjoy the poolside. This is ECONO LODGE in 3220 N. This area is nearby Walmart, Publix and other major stores. These type of clouds shown in the pictures were rain clouds. As we drove in that direction, the rain started pouring so hard and the road had zero visibility.
Well, the bad weather passes so quickly and later that afternoon, the sky was clear again.

I love watching the sky at night because of the stars. I am fascinated with the blue sky in the morning because of the cloud formation. Look at this picture which I took in Orlando. We were on the road heading to Port Canaveral when I saw this cloud with a tail. It is beautiful! It looks like a chick flappin' it's wings and zooming fast.

My husband is planning to visit the Philippines either December or April of 2011. We are actually waiting for a good deal online and we are all set to go. Then, big news happened about the Hostage-Drama in the Philippines which ended 8 casualties of foreign nationals.
I am a Filipino and what happened was a total shock! The hostage taker is Rolando Mendoza who took a busload of Chinese nationals. We all witnessed the agonizing incident aired live on TV. Go to youtube if you want to know more about it. It was 12 hours of critical negotiations which ended tragically. Who should we blame?
I am sad that there were lives lost! I am disappointed why it took the negotiators 12 hours to negotiate. It seems that the police force who handled the hostage drama were incompetent! Weren't they? The negotiators mishandle the negotiation (so bad)!
Would the incident become a deterrent to visit Philippines? My husband said, it was an isolated case. He will still visit the Philippines sometime soon. You can see so many "ROLANDO MENDOZA" anywhere in the world! It was just an awakening for us Filipinos that shocking as it maybe, a Filipino was capable of such gruesome action.
It was truly an isolated incident!
My deepest sympathy and prayers to the family and friends of the victims. The Filipino all over the world condemn the action of Rolando Mendoza. We will never tolerate such an Evil Action driven by anger and bad decision!
Miss Universe 2010 - I must admit that I was one of the hopefuls who watched the Pageant with so much excitement. Hubby and I were having a vacation here in Port Canaveral near the Kennedy Space Center and late evening is TV time. Since it was shown live in an evening show, we just watched it. Actually, we just focus watching the pageant when Miss Philippines was named as one of the TOP 15 finalists.
I was so proud especially when she was named as one of the TOP 10 finalists. Honestly, it was my first time to see her on TV. I do not have a subscription of any Filipino Channel so, I am not updated with Philippine news. She was pretty and the body was truly WOW!
Seeing her on TV and named as one of the Top 5 Finalists in the Prestigious Search for Miss Universe 2010 was totally great! My fellow "Kababayan" did so well on stage! She made it to top 5 from 83 women!
Then, came the unforgettable Q and A portion. She was the last finalist that was called and she drawn the name of the handsome William Baldwin. After she gave the answer, I convinced myself that she will make it to top 3. I know, I made a fool out-of-myself thinking she will. SIGH! Yeah! She blew her chance to be the next Miss Universe. BUT....
Should we blame her for what had happen? She was over-confident, some say! For me, maybe she was star-struck with the judge! Her answer was trending in Facebook and Twitter! I read all the nasty and harsh criticism, even below the belt!
Maybe, we Filipinos expect too much of her. That was her BEST and she was happy with Top5. We believe that she can do better than what she had shown to the world. She MIGHT BE but, what she did is good enough FOR HER and that was HER MAJOR contribution to the country.
What have we done to our country? Filipinos should move on! Just make a deepest SIGH and move on! (SIGH) and yeah ... don't frown .... just LAUGH out loud and move on! LOL
