Birthday Gifts

It's my birthday today. My husband and I celebrated my special day by having a short road trip from Mississippi to Florida. t was fun! I was craving for a meal that was sold by Miller's Ale House and the nearest location from us is in Pensacola. Off we did go! For birthday presents, I really did not wish for anything. I have a Taylor 110 at guitarcenter.com which my father-in-law had given me, its hidden in the closet and I never played with it. So, for now ... I don't wish for anything but, good health for today and always. 

Significance of Flowers

I got this bouquet of flowers on my birthday and I was happy. Any flowers would turn me on. I don't care if it is expensive or not, if someone so dear and gave me one stalk of flower, I will be delighted for sure.After a week, it's not withered and I am just happy to see these flowers in the living room.

Anyway, I was searching for the meaning of these flowers and got the following information: The red roses implies passion.

White roses suggest virtue and chastity.

The yellow roses stand for friendship or devotion.

The sunflowers would mean respect.

Gerbera (daisy) means innocence or purity.

A Birthday Party in the Garden

My friend was searching for on line florists the other day. She will be having a 40th birthday celebration next month. She wanted to have a party in her beautiful garden and would really love to find someone local who can help her decorate her garden for her birthday party. She already has the concept but, she needed help in the selection of flowers. Of course, she has limited budget for the flowers so; she wanted to use inexpensive blooms. The flowers which are produced locally will be no problem with her as long as the decor and how these flowers will be utilized fit into the occasion.

Having someone who is expert in the decoration would really help her a lot. She wanted to make this year a memorable birthday celebration as a way of thanksgiving for a new life. She had an accident few months ago and was lucky to be alive and walk away with minor injuries. Every day is a bonus and she wanted to let everyone know that she's grateful for making each day of her life wonderful. Anyway, I hope she was able to find the people she needed to help her plan her party and that the florist can conceptualize my friend's idea. After all, she deserves to be happy on her birthday.

True friends are rare and I am so lucky to have one since College days. Cookie is a down to earth person. Moody ( opppss, lol ) , nice Soprano voice, loves the camera, sassy and sosy :-) and very level headed person. We are not the best buddies and we are not even close to the point that we giggle when Glen is around. She had her own best friends and I have my own buddies too. Yet, we just keep updating with what's going on with our lives. I was an Alto and she was a Soprano in our school's Glee Club. Remember those days Cookie Pie? LOL! If you have been blogging for more than a year now, you must have known her. She is known to us by the name----> UMMA. It's her pen name of course. Today, it is her birthday and though she is so busy outside the blogging world, she missed us all and that is for sure. This woman is the kind of person you want to go out for window shopping with. She loves signature purses, much as I wanted to give her but, can't afford it...hehehe. Despite her glamorous lifestyle, she still an ordinary Filipina who loves to eat with " tuyo and suka" dip on the side. I forgot if she likes it with "sili" though, LOL.

Happy Birthday Eleanor and Cecile

She is Eleanor, a good friend in College and a blogger. She is a friend who listen and never criticize. If you ask an opinion from her, she will tell you upfront. Honestly, we don't get along in so many ways hahaha, right Dharlz? But, we manage to become friends since College. She is super intelligent, very fluent, an excellent cook, a good baker and a thoughtful friend. She always bring me her home made PUTO (rice cake) and "Lasagna", a sample for her business. A mother, a plain housewife and I would say a real friend even if we don't see each other in person yet. She is so friendly and honest in every way like she will really tell that she is mad if she was. One time, she was so mad of her neighbor but, she knows how to control her temper too. Being a religious as she is, that really helps right? She is one of the few bloggers who never fails to visit me and left tons of comments.

Happy Birthday Dad

That is our gift to my father-in-law who turned 89 years old last February 21st. He loves subway so much and their special soup for the day. And since he likes chocolate, we gave him a little bit and that is an imported chocolate from UK.

My weekend is very busy that is why I don't have so much personal post. But, I did manage to blog hop to all the people who visited my blog in cbox and in my friends list and those who left comments. Yep! I did all that. So, right now, I am posting the birthday celebration of my father-in-law, he is 89 years old. The party was held on the 21st. It is just a family gathering and we are all 14 atogether. We started with lunch, then, opening of his gifts. He is having fun because everyone was there except one who is in Missouri who greeted him through fon. Anyway, here are some of the pictures.

What was your first impression on Umma?
Beautiful and Smart Mommy! That is all there is. Beautiful inside and out. I really can not recall how I got to know her or where I found her from who but, from the moment I met her and read her posts...i keep coming back. Very intelligent, down to earth and even if we spoken differently (slight) on politics, we still manage to have humor about it. That is who she is.

After I've known her, did that impression change?Not a single bit. As I came to know her, Adjectives are added like pouring rain...
What do I think of her as a mother?
She is taking motherhood as a trophy and she is enjoying every minute of it.

Her posts are all worth reading for. She encouraged the reader to participate and give ideas and all you could do is to share too. She had clever thoughts and topic which is very interesting to take part.
