Cooking Rut

Content by Kyle Lowe:

I feel like I am in a cooking rut. We have the same 5 things over and over: chicken pot pie, pasta bake, meat loaf, pot roast, and chicken breasts. I am sick of those meals, and I know the rest of the family is. I have a couple of cookbooks, but I’m not too fond of them. My friend at church mentioned to me that she is a member of an online site where you plan a menu for every week based on what you like or want to try, and the program puts together a shopping list for you, and the recipes as well. They are sorted by days of the week, ingredients, etc. I think they even try to match recipes so you are using the same ingredients for multiple different recipes. I’d love to sign up for this, but first we have to get internet access at home. I’m going to check out what wild blue deals are going on right now, and see what we can get going at home.

Vacation Home

This guest post from Werner Rogers:

We have had our mountain home for years and just had our family and close friends using it. We recently decided that we were going to start renting it out to people to earn some extra money. That is one of the easiest ways to get money because it doesn't actually involve doing or making anything. The only thing we have to do is correspond with the people interested in the cabin and send them the keys when their trip is coming up. We did have to make a few adjustments to make the cabin more appealing for people to rent. We put in a washer and dryer and added a few decorative touches. I knew a big selling point would be free internet access but I didn't know if it would be a possibility. I went to http://get.wildblue.com and found away to offer this. Now people on vacation can bring their laptops and upload photos of their vacation to Facebook while they are actually on their vacation! Maybe we will even buy a laptop to let the renters use while they are on vacation.

Decorating the House for Halloween

Written by my friend Judson Kelly:

Every fall my husband and I decorate or house for Halloween. The kids love to see all of the ghosts, pumpkins and witches floating around the living-room and kitchen. We always start with the living-room so we can watch scary movies on our satellite TV from www.tvbydirect.com/directv-deal/NORTH-CAROLINA-NC-direct-tv.html. Cob webs are a must for us in our home and we hang them in every possible corner in the room. After there hung we place little plastic spiders in the webs to make it look realistic. Other than the webs we have small plastic figurines that we place on shelves and tables. After the living-room is finished to perfection we move to the kitchen where we have the most fun. In this room we fill it full of candy bowls, carved pumpkins, bags of seeds, webs and spooky masks hanging on the wall. When the kids walk into our home on Halloween night we let them walk around and look at all the decorations we put up, along with picking out their favorite treats. Most kids go straight for the cupcakes and candy dishes, but the adults seem to enjoy the seeds very much!

Bad Brighthouse Service

We moved to our new place two weeks ago and the internet is still not hook up. Would you believe it? There were more than four guys going in and out of our place and they can't find a good signal. The supervisor said that they need to rewire it and they will just ask permission from the HOA. Last Thursday, they got the permit and all they have to do really is do the rewiring! My husband called them everyday and each time, someone else handle our case. My husband was so pissed and he canceled the internet connection! Now, I left hanging! I'm totally disappointed! It would have been better if they will inform us that they can't do the connection! Everyday is a RUN-AROUND! Brighthouse service is totally frustrating!

The Bachelor

This was written by guest blogger Taylor Rase

There is no man more dreamy on television than whoever is the bachelor on the reality show, "The Bachelor." This is hands-down one of the best reality show on television. Ask any woman, and she will likely say she loves watching the gorgeous man on "The Bachelor."

I adore watching The Bachelor on the channel I get through my satellite tv deals. There is nothing more relaxing than coming home from a hard day of work to watch a gorgeous man on television with class and sharp style. I always pretend I am one of the women being selected by the bachelor and try to imagine what I would say to the bachelor, or even do! The show has transformed television as many other shows have created spinoffs of this show. There is even a version of the show where a woman chooses a bachelor from many men. However, I like the original show the best. This show is also great, because it shows women what men want. I like seeing what the bachelor is attracted to and what behaviors put him off. Sometimes I don't even realizing that I am doing something that might be a major turn off to guys! The good thing is that I correct this behavior and thus increase my chances of someday meeting my own gorgeous bachelor. I highly recommend watching "The Bachelor" on television for the best reality show ever!
