Gift of Life

Hubby and I were busy today. After having a breakfast at Panera Bread at Fashion Mall, we did our share of "two cents" today and we are happy that we were able to help a friend who needed a ride. Her husband was hospitalized due to some allergy and she can't drive yet.

Anyway, later that afternoon, we notarized the Will Documents of a friend who recently lost her husband. She was doing okay but, my husband calls her every now and then to know how she was doing.

Then, we went to pick up a friend in two locations, a store and at the airport, and went to a wake of a good friend who died last week of a lung cancer. Did you know that she does not smoke at all? Why did she die of a lung cancer and she was only 46 years old?

Life truly is a gift! Every breathe we take is a bonus! Every waking moments of our lives with the faces of friends and the loving care of our family are gifts that we should treasure. How would you feel when one of your family was given less than 6 months to live? Then, that saddest moment came?

That is why we need to be thankful of everything that we have. The complete faculties of our body, we should be thankful to God! Other's don't have eyes to see, don't have tongue to speak, don't have cars to drive, don't have house to live and don't have food to eat! Look at you! If you have at least one of the good things that I mention, you should be thankful! If you don't acknowledge the good things that you have compared to others then, you are a fool!

You have a LIFE! Do not compare yourself to others! Be thankful for what you have! You have LIFE, make the most out of it!

A Gift to Myself

Okay, this camera arrived today. I like it alright but, I still love to own a DSLR either Canon EOS Rebel or a Nikon D5100. This GE camera is rated 5 stars and I will do the same. I have no problem with this camera. In fact, I love all the features and the price is only $128.oo which is unbeatable. I have two new digital camera that I seldom use because it's handy for me to use the BlackBerry phone. If I keep this for me, I might not use it that much. So tomorrow, I will be returning this camera and save for my DSLR.

Lazy Saturday

Hubby and I had nothing to do earlier today really. We just waited for the Brighthouse cable guy to fix the HDMI TV connection in our living room because it has no signal since Thursday. The connection was suddenly off after that big storm in Florida last Thursday. Anyway, I took the time to do the laundry and hang out in our Florida room area.Re-arranging the furniture's and do some household chores was all I did all day. When the cable guy came and fix the connection, hubby and I were already lazy to do anything. But, staying inside the house more than half day was boring. We then decided to do some grocery at BJ's, our favorite wholesale club. Then, we moved to another store, just window shopping. But, when I passed by in the bicycle section, I saw a bike that fancy my liking. Hubby bought it for me! Lazy Saturday and we went shopping at the rush of an impulse. I don't regret it really! I like my bike and looking forward to ride on it and enjoy it for many days.

If Only

I have never been to Seaworld! I wanted to go because I can find a good deal and discounted prices in any tourist destination here in Orlando. The set back? I can't convince somebody to be with me :-( . My hubby wouldn't want to go with me because he lived here in Florida all his life and been to any of these attractions a millionth times. Too bad for me huh?

I will find my way to be there any time soon :-) how's that? If only my friends are here, we could visit these palces all day!

Sigh! Sigh! Sigh!

What are the things that can make you sigh? For me, I have so many and I can only blame myself for that. When it comes to money-making using the Internet, I have countless to sighed about! Just today, I counted 10 blog offers that I rejected due to lack of time to write. I want to get back to where I was before when it comes to grabbing and posting opportunities. This month is not a good start but, I am challenging myself to not put priorities in the corner. Sigh!

Simple Question

I never have the time to read a book for almost three years now. I know, it is not good and I blame myself for that. I got a call today from a friend who asked me a simple question. Her daughter is in fourth grade and have an assignment: What's the perimeter of a rectangle? I was like, uhmmm...LOL! I gave my best answer. BUT, I told her that I was confused as to what's the difference of perimeter and an area. Okay, I told her that I will call back and clarify that confusing differences. After my short research, I was glad that I did not forget the basics of mathematics. Afterall, the hardest answer is coming from the simplest question.

Migraine

Hello everyone! Thanks for the effort of stopping by in my blogs. I know that my absence in blogging was totally the trend for more than a year. Much as I wanted to visit your blogs, TIME won't let me. I have so much to share but, all those were put aside for other priorities. I thought I could blog everyday and visit you everyday but, I can't find the time. I am so sorry that I can't visit you as much as I can. I was back to blogging for couple of weeks now. I visited some of your blogs too. Then, I had migraine which forced me to quit using my PC for two days. I had opportunities which I need to write and that's it. Can't even visit a single blog in a day. I miss those moments!

Color Blue

Here is another picture that is rich in color. This time it is color blue. The picture is captured during winter. It may not be an authentic photo and if this is real, it must be an awesome place to visit. I just saw this picture in my pc's folder.

Anyway, blue color has a lot of meaning. In the human emotion, it means sadness. In German, to be blue means to be drunk. Dark blue means knowledge, power, integrity, and seriousness. Blue represents the working class. A blue-collar worker is a member of the working class who typically performs manual labor. Would you agree?

Random Thoughts

I have only two more nights to report to work and I will be jobless but, HAPPY! Did you know that I have no migraine for almost three weeks now? My mind is relax and free from stress that is why, I have a happy disposition while I quit my job. What are my reasons? I will pursue my MA in School Management, hoping that I can catch up this opening of classes in Florida. My husband and I will return to Florida for good. We made appointments to visit some apartments and condos there and hopefully we can find one which we like. Finger crossed!

Just A Rant for the Day

When I was in the HR today, I was not really expecting to get the position that I applied for a transfer. I got the hunch yesterday!

Since Monday, I was waiting for an email coming from HR. They usually sent an email to the applicants whether they will hire or the position is filled in. The scenario was, I applied the Gift Shop Clerk (full time) last Sunday. To my dismay, I found out only yesterday that my application was not successfully submitted. And since I was awake at 1 AM, I sent it out anyway. I know my submission was late! At 9 AM, I got an email from HR that I should apply in person. And so, I was there at 7:30 AM after my 8 hours of tiring job.

Was glad that Mr. Santa Claus was there, LOL. He is a "Sunshine" to everybody at work. We talk about his hobby playing the game of World of Warcraft while waiting for the in charge who I need to see.

Anyway, I got an email from HR today too, informing me that the position was filled already. Well, I have no issue with that. I knew that they already hired someone yesterday because the posting was gone when I report to work.

BUT, this really bothered me! While I was there in the office, they asked me if I have any experienced handling a cash register and when I said NO; one lady automatically said, that made me not qualified for the position of a Gift Shop Clerk.

I went home in deep thought! If they can not hire me as a clerk in gift shop then, maybe I do not see myself ever hired in another higher position ever. I was turn down because I do not have the EXPERIENCE handling money in the cash register. Don't they give trainings?

By the way, the salary of that job is a dollar lower than what I have at present. I applied because I wanted to explore the other department.

With this experience, I do not see my future in this establishment. If they can't transfer me in this EASY POSITION because I lack experience, they will never transfer me in any position in the future. I might as well move on....

Merry Christmas Everyone

Few days from now, we will be celebrating Christmas Day! Are you excited? Well, I am! It is always my favorite celebration that I look forward every year. I am done shopping for my 12- member family here and my 4 women colleagues at work. I will be shopping on Tuesday for my husband which I am still confused what to give. I gave him a Satellite Radio in advance and he love it. Of course, I need to find good stuffs too for my 8 co-workers. I know, I do not need to give but, I love giving something. Just a thanksgiving too for all the blessings that I got this year.
For my family in the Philippines, I already told my mom to give cash gifts. I have 20 immediate family and their gifts are ready for Christmas. I only have my mother and the companion of my mom, Tina to think of now.

Let us not forget that it is NICE to give and share your blessings. Expect nothing in return too. Good health is more than a blessing. Do not forget to thank the LORD for a bountiful blessings this year. Have a Merry Christmas everyone.

Who Am I?

I am just an ordinary person who excel in my own unique world. I would say, 98% of my students every year likes me. That was a history now though. Back home, I was a teacher for twelve years. I can't please everybody because of my strict policy. But I would say, my students and the parents appreciate what I did for them. When I choose to follow a different path, they shed tears when I bid them goodbye. That was really sad yet awesome, knowing they love me. I love the music of Josh Groban and I idolize Lea Salonga for her passion of music and sharpness of her ideals. Fascinated with Walt Disneys achievement of having that fortune, a tremendous accomplishment. I giggle with animated films such as Nemo and admire the fantasy story of Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. Movies of Jacky Chan and Eddie Murphy makes me laugh and I become a dreamer watching Notting Hill, Maid in Manhattan and Pretty Woman. My family is important to me. I salute my mother for her compassionnate heart. I envy her strength to survive amidst all odds of life. Her being is unequal and her belief of God is very admirable. I love her more than anyone else. My brother is the person I admire for his devotion to his family. He stood by us when me and my mom were dependent on him. I have a normal childhood (me, mother and brother). That is normal to me. Got friends from all ages and all walks of life, hehehe . I am a loner type but not lonely. In college, I was the studious one and a confidant to most of my friends. I am the kind of friend that could listen to all their rantings . I confide to GOD when problems shattered me. Attended in a University and was a self-supporting student. My college life was the most memorable moment of my life. Music fills in all my activities. My experiences made me who I am now. Working is always a need for me to have to survive and live the good life. I have no complains. I am so much blessed in life. My husband is the greatest addition of God's blessings to me. And I am grateful to God for all of me and everyone that surrounds me.

Flooding in CDO

I woke up with the noise of my cellphone beeping. It was a text from my mother in the Philippines. She always inform me through text whenever she was online. Well, she went panicked today because there was a downpour of rain in Cagayan de Oro City causing flood in the area of Carmen where my brother lives. Anyway, I told her to calm down and just get the whole family and have them sleep over in my place. There was a storm and it hit Misamis Oriental this week. There were flooded areas and some landslides. I just hope that this calamity is not that huge. All my family and relatives are safe though. Since I live uptown, my mother is safe in our place.

Class is Finally Over

David got the over all scenario with me being an angry amy LOL! But, I am not angry really but amused of the situation of my workplace. While I am away in blogging world (three months), David has kept me informed. Thanks to David, oh well, you know him right? If not, visit his blog.

I would like to thank everyone who keep coming to my blog even if I can't visit them back. I have 111-148 daily average views in this blog and 75-148 daily average visitors for the last three months. Most of them, visitors from Google search. Thank you.

Well, my class is finally over yesterday. Got LXXX1X grade, not bad for me considering I have to work at night. And my teacher is the person that I argued during my enrollment processing. Yap! Imagine me seeing her on the first day of class. She knew that I know that she is indifferent and trying to show kindness. Trouble! Me and my Mexican friend Lily realized that the teacher is indifferent whenever we call her for assistance. But, when others asked for clarification, on the spot---> she will help them with clear explanation. She even sits down on their PC and finish their computer tasks. We halted our work for those times. Both of us are patience though. I know, if it were YOU, you will fight for your rights.

Lily was sad during the Midterm exam. Me too LOL. When we take the midterm exam, we only have it for less than 20 minutes without telling us that she plan it that way. She got the lowest result and I do not blame her. She is so smart considering she talk Spanish and English is not even her second language. I challenged her to focus and make the finals perfect. I was so glad with her grade yesterday. She got a perfect score during the finals. I got one mistake and Lily got a XC grade. I am so happy with her. I am using Roman Numerals hehehe. Our grades are written in numeric of course.

Well, glad that my class is done and I met two wonderful classmates Lily and Marie. Did you know that I slept from 9 AM to 6PM straight---> so peaceful. See you in your blogs.

Class is Almost Over

I miss visiting your blogs really! But, I have work and class at the same time. Adjusting my schedule after a year of straight blogging is not easy for me. The good news is that my class will end this month. I can now blog hop and follow what's going on in blogland. My work is tiring as usual but, I am alright. I just wish that I can share the pictures I took about what's going on in my place. I will be after the class is over and I will be seeing you in your blog by then.

Thankful Wednesday

I missed the Blog World really but, I can only do one thing at a time. I have so much to blog about such as my experiences at workplace, my studies, my day to day activities which were FUN, my new acquaintances and yep, too many indeed.
  • My Beyond Photography blog got PR3- I really do not understand the Google Rankings. It seems to me that, the more you strive harder to get your PR back, the more it is further from your grasp. The last time I blog in my camera trip was Oct.22 and I have only 15 average daily visitors. Yet, I got PR3. Well, thank you Google! I appreciate it so much. Hoping that my other two blogs will have PR soon also.
  • My class will end this month and am so excited really. I was just so exhausted with classes and work and desperate to blog also. I lack the normal time that I needed.
  • My work is FINE! It is not the job that you guys would prefer. You would scolded me for sure. Kelly's Services called me two weeks after I got the permanent job. Though it is a teaching job, it is only a part time. Having my present job is Okay for now. I promise that I won't hold this job for so long, or else; I will be scolded by my friends in blog land, LOL.
  • My workplace is good. The employees are Nice and I met six Filipino workers which I am excited about. I like Nitz in the Wardrobe Department. She is so nice and a typical Filipina who is so down to earth. She is the kind of person that you will keep as a friend really!
  • About my Izea and PPP opportunities, I still have them. There are times I missed to write them even if I was able to reserved the opportunities. I am trying though.
  • Every morning, after work, my husband and I ate at the breakfast buffet in these casinos: Palace Hotel, Hard Rock, the Isle and Beau Rivage. I will be posting the pictures soon when I am back to my normal blogging.
Today, is the birthday of our cousin here so, we will have lunch at Satisfaction Buffet. See yah in your blog.

Overwhelming Day

Before I log out from work this morning, my mood started to change. I was so overwhelmed with emotion. Then, there were 2 employees who works in the morning shift annoyed me. I do not easily give in but, today was so different. I had the attitude of "I don't care" and I acted on impulse. Well, I was just disappointed with myself trying to want to please everyone but, these two seemed doesn't like me. First impression, they don't like me, I guess. It's impossible to please everybody right? Out of disappointment, I showed my bad attitude of just ignoring them. Usually, I greet them in the morning first but, today I just pretend not to see them. Of course, I responded to others greetings with smile. It's just that, I don't like the way I acted today. Well, when I read my horoscope, it says:

"You run into some very odd troubles at the workplace -- or related to your career goals -- and you need to derail the day's activities in order to adjust. You can handle it all, of course, but it's a distraction."
Do you believe in horoscope?

A New Mom

When I was processing my Immigration papers, I did my own research on the Internet. I met Tin-Tin online who is having the same hurdle as I am. We share each others paper preparation and what pertinent documents to be added on the packet. She applied her Visa few weeks ahead of mine and did her embassy interview first so, she became my mentor. The advise such as Be Confident, Know your documents and Purpose of the Interview were her words of wisdom.
We passed everything with determination! We have no immigration lawyer and we did our Immigration documents on our own. At that moment, the immigration interview is most-feared. For the milestones of our lives, that moment is just a normal experience. She arrived the US a month earlier than I was. When I had my flight to the US also, that was her wedding day in Vegas. After almost two years, she is now a MOM. This is a picture of her baby's hand and I am not sure if that is hers or her husband. What an amazing blessing right? I would like to congratulate Tin-Tin for this new chapter of her life- becoming a Mother. I am so glad to know that you have an ANGEL to take care and gives you a deeper meaning of LIFE! Congratulations my friend.
