Victims By Jiverly Wong: One Is A Filipino

Friday, April 3, 2009, Binghampton, New York : Jiverly Wong, 41 years old, a Vietnamese Immigrant, gundown 13 innocent lives while they are in the American Civic Center in Binghampton Community Center. It was believed that he was angry and felt degraded because of his bad English. The victims were immigrants and all are attending a citizenship class. He shot himself to death.

I posted this yesterday and I was really devastated because today, the names of the victims were released and a FILIPINO was one of the casualty. She is Dolores Carbonilas Yigal - 53 years old from Talisay, Cebu City. She is living in New York for two years now. She was married to Omri Yigal for three years. The medical examiner told Omri Yigal that his wife suffered gunshot wounds to the head and hand, as if she was trying to protect herself.

"Napaka-walang kwenta naman ang naging dahilan ng pagkamatay ni Dolores. Dahil lang sa isang taong may TUPAK! Napakababaw na dahilan at mangdamay pa ng ibang inosenteng tao na walang kamalay-malay. "

These are the other victims and their nationality:
  • Parveen Ali, 26 Pakistan
  • Marc Henry Bernard, 44 Haiti
  • Maria Sonia Bernard, 46 Haiti
  • Li Guo, 47 China
  • Hong Xiu Mao, 35 China
  • Lan Ho, 39 Vietnam
  • Hai Hong Zhong, 54 China
  • Maria Zobniw, 60 U.S.
  • Roberta Bobby King, 72 U.S.
  • Almir O. Alves, 43 Brazil
  • Jiang Ling, 22 China
  • Layla Khalil, 57 Iraq
I am not related to Dolores and these other victims but, i felt the loss! Who would have thought that their lives will be wasted this way. Not here in the US! Not to a broken man like Jiverly Wong!
