Which Factors Most Influence Auto Insurance Rates?

Regardless of who provides your auto insurance in Lansing, each month you should receive an account statement, either through the mail or online. This statement should provide basic details about your rates, and your rate may go up or down a few dollars every so often. If you compare your rates to a neighbor or friends, you’ll probably notice that your rates aren’t identical. This may lead you to wondering which factors are having the biggest impact on your rates. Insurance companies gather lots of statistical data, and use that data to determine which factors make drivers less likely to be involved in accidents.

Age

As a person gets older, their insurance rates are likely to go down. It should be no surprise that older people statistically get into accidents less, as they’ve had more experience behind the wheel and are less prone to rookie mistakes.

Driving Record

Perhaps the biggest factor on your rate is your driving record. One of the reasons young drivers pay more is that they haven’t been driving enough to have a record, so the insurance provider doesn’t know what type of driver they’re going to be. Some people seem to get into accidents every year, or even more frequently, and these drivers are likely to continue getting in accidents at a high rate. Because they will end up costing the insurance company more money, they are charged more upfront. If, however, you drive for many years with little or no accidents, your insurance rates should shrink.

Value of Car

Another reason for differing rates could be the value of the vehicle you’re insuring. The newer and more expensive the car, the more expensive it will be to repair should you get into an accident. Also, if the car is totaled and needs to be replaced, the insurance company will be out a lot of money.

Education

There are a couple of ways that education can influence your insurance rates now. If you are or have a student driver, some companies will give you a discount, especially if you send them a transcript with impressive grades. Some companies also provide optional education courses that customers can go through in order to become safer drivers and lower their rates. So when you’re comparing auto insurance in Lansing, you will have an understanding of why insurance companies offer different rates to different customers.

Living a Good Life Because We are in Good Hands

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Allstate. All opinions are 100% mine.

My husband has a good insurance for years. He was bragging about it to his friends. Allstate Good Life covers the protection that my husband needed if in case untoward incident happens along the way. Basically, the premiums are affordable for a great coverage and for being a safe driver; he gets a check twice a year. It was like giving him a tap on the shoulder for being a good driver.

It is really great to know that someone will take care of you when mishap happens. We have to do what we can do and continue to enjoy life. Nothing will hinder us for traveling and exploring new places. Allstate Good Life is on standby if in case something wrong happens. The thing is, my husband knows who and what to call when unlikely incidents occur. My question is, who do you call?

My husband has a very accommodating agent and when he has problems, he took care for everything. He calls him back and settled everything. It was a worry-free experience though it was a minor incident. My husband parked in a parking lot in a grocery store and when he opened the door, a wind gust blew his door wide open and it bump to the car sitting next to him. From the look of it, it has nothing to it but, hubby called the agent. He took care of it that day.

Without the good things of Allstate Good Life offers, that incident could turn out bad and financially draining. We are enjoying a good life right now because we don't worry about those kinds of things. We truly are in good hands especially when our deductible diminishes every year. Thus, giving us extra budget to go places and enjoy life as it is. What about you? Tell me your good life stories. I would surely love to hear them.

Liability Insurance

In the blink of an eye you could be involved in an automobile accident. That's why it is important to have motor liability insurance on your vehicle. Even if the accident was not your fault, you can still be taken to court. If the court does not agree with you, then you would have to pay the damages and injuries of the other person involved in the accident. This could get very expensive if you do not have liability insurance.

If your automobile does have liability coverage, your company will be responsible for paying the damages on the other car. Your insurance rates will probably go up. That would be a lot easier to deal with than a lawsuit that you would have to pay out of your own pocket. Most liability policies have limits. This is the total amount of money that the insurance company will pay out to cover you.

Usually the higher rate you pay on your liability policy, it will cost you more. So you must think about how much insurance protection you actually need and how much you can afford. There are a couple of different types of liability insurance such as single limit and split limit. When purchasing liability insurance you should work with a professional insurance agent who can help you determine what kind of policy you should buy. One other thing, most states require you to carry at least liability insurance. If you are involved in an accident and are driving without any insurance, you will be in serious trouble.
