Road Trips and Music

While we were driving to Florida, I was using my Pandora app to listen to music. Well, I don't have a great signal all the time and it was frustrating. All our gadgets have limited files of music and it's my fault though. I was too lazy to download songs and I always rely on my Mobile WiFi. In road trips, it's not good at all.

Funny that I took for granted simple stuff like that. Things like sports armband, roland cymbal mount, charger mount etc which are not necessary at a given time and eventually will be important in a unique situation. Anyway, I was kind of hoping that we renew our Satellite Radio account because it's the best for road trips. Well, we might do that.

Final Road Trip Monday Post for 2013

Today is the last Monday of 2013 and I am looking forward for the new year's exciting road trips that we will have. I am expecting more road trips in Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana and more because, we will be leaving Florida soon. Well, that will happen when we sell the house here in Cocoa then, we can move back in the gulf coast. Anyway, for Road Trip Monday, I am sharing these photos which I took while hubby and I were driving by Merritt Island just 20 minutes away from home. We actually went to Cape Canaveral. It was a gorgeous dusk moment so; I took these shots. Hoping you like viewing these awesome photos.
The photo above was taken in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

We were routing North Cocoa Blvd but, we detour by the Indian River Drive
to see the Christmas Lights display in the area.
2013 has been an exciting year for us. We love living in the Space Coast and we love exploring NASA's Kennedy Space Center which is just 10 minutes away from our place. We love this place and we love Florida but, we miss our family in Mississippi that is why; we are moving there this year. Expect more photos of road trips in this blog for 2014. Happy New Year everyone and thank you for checking out my blog every time I have a new post. Thank you for the support. May your New Year brings love, good luck and good health to you and your family. God bless you all.

Walt Disney's Barn in Marceline Missouri

The moment I saw this barn, I just can't believe that this is the childhood playground of Walt Disney. Yep, the iconic Philanthropist and the major figure in American Animation Industry once lived in Marceline, a town surrounded with farmlands. This barn stood still beyond time and just few yards away is Walt's dreaming tree where he spent hours dreaming the ultimate dream of his life.

Inside the barn is just ordinary and nothing much to see but, this barn is Walt's Happy Place. As we are enjoying the amazing Disney Magic in movies and the great sights and attractions in Disneyland and Magic Kingdom, those can be traced back down the memory lane in Marceline. As the young Walt made his first entertaining prowess inside this barn using animals in costume. Well, his audience was not happy about it so; his mom had him return the money to the audience. LOL.

Okay, I left my footprint in this barn, I mean, I did left my signature and message inside this barn. If you are going to visit Disney's Barn and his Dreaming Tree in Marceline, Missouri , please bring a sign pen with you. There is no CVS or Walgreens in this area. Yep, no store in this area. The nearest WalMart is about 15 minutes away.

This is the only sign that you have to look to reach this area. Parking space is probably less than 5 but, it's plenty for you. Not so many visitors came here to visit.

Disney loves this barn that is why; he recreated this barn in his home in California and used it as his workshop.

At the front of the barn. This looks like the farmland of my uncle back in the Philippines , (wink) .

Have you seen the movie So Dear To My Heart? If you don't , I found the video and added it below.

I have pictures inside the barn, I will be posting it here next time.

Thanks for stopping by.

Road Trip to Keytesville Missouri

When hubby and I went to Missouri last October, this sighting is so fascinating for me. I have seen movies about Amish but, I never seen one in person. You know, with the clothes they wear, simple way of living and riding in their Amish buggy.

As we drove down the country road to Keytesville, Missouri, hubby turn to a dirt road. No road signs and all we could see was vast bare land and father down the road, fields of farm. The cellphone lost signal, GPS lost signal and we haven't seen a single human being for 30 minutes. There were houses but, it seemed no one was there. Then, we saw ordinary houses with clothesline hang to dry at their front yard and a park buggy. We saw nobody.

We were afraid to stop and ask. Oh yeah, we were lost.  There was a tower that we saw and we follow that tower and thank goodness, we saw a pick up car. We asked the man where to find the Lake Nehai. The man said, we are on the right location but, we were at the back gate. We have to hurry because at certain time, it will be close.

In short, we were lost for more than an hour driving on the dirt road, and off to the Amish neighborhood. We actually saw three Amish men but, they were not friendly looking. We arrived to our destination safely and our brand new car was covered in dust! Thick dust as a matter of fact.

It was exciting an exciting experience but, I was not able to take photos because we were nervous. On the next day, we went to an Amish Store and I love their store. I saw real Amish people. They are friendly and the ladies at the store seemed shy and observant. Again, much as I wanted to take photos of them, just can't. I don't know if they are okay with that or they might get offended. They are pretty, the ladies in the Amish store.
