Anatomy of the Fort

This is Fort Matanzas in Saint Augustine, Florida. The Fort protects the Matanzas inlet in Spanish Colonial era constructed in 1704-1742. The main purpose is to ward off the British advances on Saint Augustine.
The Fort has observation deck, powder magazine space, officer's quarter, firearm loopholes, soldier's quarter's, cistern and the sentry box. The ferry boat is FREE when you want to visit Fort Matanzas. Check out this place soon.
